A voice message keyring: your voice on their keys
A voice message keyring is a number plate keyring whose back carries up to 30 seconds of your voice, as a sound wave and a printed QR code. They point a phone camera at the code to play it, and most phones need no app. One costs £25.

How it plays
The code on the back is a QR code that opens your message on our site. Most phone cameras read it with no app: they point the camera at the fob, open the link and press Play.
The back also shows the message as a sound wave, so the fob carries the shape of what you said even before anyone plays it.
You may have seen keyrings with a Spotify code that plays a song. This one plays your own voice from our own printed code, and has no link with Spotify.
Record or upload
Record in the builder, in the browser on your phone or computer. Or upload a voice note you have saved, such as a message from someone they miss. Either way the message can be up to 30 seconds long.
In the builder you see the back in 3D, with the sound wave and the code on it, before it goes in the basket. Their reg goes on the front.
Ideas for the message
- For a new driver: a parent saying "drive safe" in their own voice. See the new driver gift.
- For Dad: the children, one after another. See the dad keyring.
- For a partner: a private joke, or what you would say if you were next to them. See the boyfriend keyring.
- For Mum: a message for a bad day, from you.
- For a grandparent: the grandchildren saying hello.
- For someone who misses a person: a voice note you saved from them, kept on the keys.
Tips for recording
- Find a quiet room and hold the phone close, about a hand's width from your mouth.
- Say their name first. It tells them straight away the message is for them.
- Write a few lines down before you start. Thirty seconds goes faster than you think.
What is on the front
