Who we are

PlateFob is run by Volumetryx Inc., a company registered in Canada, at 815 Av. Plymouth, 608, Mont-Royal, QC H4P 0C6, Canada. Email us at hello@platefob.co.uk.

What we sell

Keyrings made to order with the registration, photo or words you choose. A fob is a small scaled copy of a plate. It is not a legal number plate and can't be used on a vehicle.

Your order

• We print exactly what you type and upload, so please check every letter before you pay.
• Your order is accepted when we email you the order confirmation, with every detail of your design.
• We can turn down a design with offensive content, or with a logo or picture you don't have the right to use. If we do, we refund you in full.
• By uploading a photo or logo you confirm you have the right to print it.

Prices and payment

Prices are in pounds sterling. A fob is £19, and two fobs are £35, even with different designs. A fob with a voice message or a map on the back is £25; two of them are £39, and one of them with another fob is £37. In an order with an odd number of fobs, the one counted alone is a fob without a voice message or a map where there is one. A gold or black fob is £3 more. Prices include UK VAT.

You pay on the secure checkout page of Shopify, which runs our shop. Your card details go to Shopify and its payment partners, never to us. The ways to pay are shown there.

Making and delivery

We make each fob to order in Canada within 2 working days and send it by tracked post to any UK address. It usually arrives 7-12 working days after you order. Postage is £2.99 for one fob and free for 2 or more, and is shown in your basket before you pay.

Any UK import VAT and duty are included in what you pay: there is nothing more to pay on delivery.

Voice messages

A fob with a voice message carries a code that plays your recording on a page of ours. We keep that page and the recording for at least 10 years from your order. If we ever had to close before then, we would email you first with a link to download the recording. You can ask us to delete it at any time: email us with the code from the fob or the order number.

The words shown with a voice message are made by a speech-to-text service, so a word can come out wrong.

The page a fob's code opens lets the person holding the keys protect them with their email, so whoever finds them can send a message. We pass messages on as they are written and can't promise that lost keys come back.

Cancelling and returns

Each fob is made to your design, so the usual 14-day right to cancel does not apply. Your rights for a faulty fob, or one that doesn't match your order, are not affected. See Returns.

Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015. As a buyer in the UK, you keep the protection of the consumer law where you live. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your own courts.

Copyright and trademarks

PlateFob and the PlateFob logo are trademarks of Volumetryx Inc. The photos, text, drawings, 3D models and fob builder on this site, and the shape and finish of our fobs, are made by or licensed to Volumetryx Inc.

You may share a link or a screenshot of this site. Copying any of it, selling it or making products from it needs our written permission.

The words and photos you put on your fob stay yours. We use them only for your order, as our Privacy page explains.
